April Ice Calendar
Mite Development : Spring Challenge
Where: Essex Sports Center Rink 1
When: April 8 - 12, (no ice 4/10)
Time: 6:30PM
Cost: $50 per player for all 4 sessions
Enhance your skills with small area games. Fun for all new and returning Mites.
HEADS UP HOCKEY
Where: Essex Sports Center - Rink 1
When: Tuesday, April 16, 2024
Time: 6:20PM & 7:40PM
Ages: All Mites thru Bantams
Cost: $25 per player, per session
Highly encourage for all players - guarantee you will learn something and have fun.
Minimum of 8 players required for each session. Tell your friends - can't beat the price! Typical sessions run $60+ per sessions.
Overview
- Heads Up Hockey is offering elite skills group skates during 2024.
- Coach Jonny Suporn will be on the ice for all training sessions.
- Each session will focus on different aspects of hockey - skating, stopping, stick handling.
- Welcome to attend one hour or both. Please just register for each session.
Checking / Body Contact Clinic
Where: Essex Sports Center - Rink 1
When: Thursday, April 25, 2024
Time: 4/25 @ 6:30PM - 8:20PM
Ages: Suggested Pee Wee and above (BY: 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010)
Cost: $25 per player
This is a special-offer clinic instructed by Roger Grillo of USA Hockey. This clinic will teach players the physical side of the game by showing proper technique for body contact and angling. This is not a checking clinic and is encouraged for all peewees (new and returning) and bantams.
Adult Learn to Skate
Where: Essex Sports Center Rink 1
When: Saturdays and Sundays in April, beginning April 7th
Time: Saturdays @ 9:10AM, Sundays @ 9:20AM
Cost: $30 per player for all 7 sessions
Strengthen your skills or add a new one to your repertoire. Learn the basics of skating with the added bonus of how to stick handle. Whether you are just learning to stand on skates or have skated a little before, there is never "too much" to learn when it comes to skating. Be able to join in on the fun with your kids at the Fairgrounds or a Public Skate. Lots of skating opportunities for Masco families this April.
Open Skate / Stick & Puck
$10 per session.

Body Contact Clinic
This program will focus on the principles of competitive contact (Youth and girls 12U) and body checking (Youth 14U, 16U, and 18U). Players will learn skills like angling, fore-checking, and responding to competitive contact in a safe learning environment.
